FedWorld Information Network  FedWorld was established in 1992 by The National Technical Information Service (NTIS), an agency of the U.S Department of Commerce, to serve as the online locator service for a comprehensive inventory of information disseminated by the Federal Government. This new service assisted agencies and the public in electronically locating Federal Government information, both information housed within the NTIS repository and information we made accessible through an electronic gateway of more than 100 Government bulletin boards. What started out as a small dial-up access system has grown tremendously over the last four years in size, technology, and content.
